Our 'Fat Track' is a short, surfaced track intended for patients with movement issues. Whether caused by laminitis, OA or weight issues, this area prevents excessive exertion while still promoting low grade movement which is key for weight loss and strengthening. This track is soft underfoot with a sand surface and closable field shelter if rest is required. The nature of this track allows close monitoring and diet restrictions without removing freedom or completely preventing movement.

We believe that promoting health in the horse as a whole prevents them becoming a 'product of their condition'. For example, a horse with PPID can receive medication to balance their endocrine system but increased movement on a track with controlled forage can reduce fat build up and the risk of laminitis. Coupled with regular massage treatments to manually break down fatty deposits, this leaves the horse in better condition than using medication alone.
